5-Minute Taste-Safe Foam

5-Minute Taste-Safe Foam!! This chickpea foam recipe is from @cara_florance and it is amazing. It takes five minutes to make, holds for a long time, and is awesome for sensory play for toddlers AND babies! This activity is perfect if you have two or more littles you need to keep occupied, but it’s great for solo play as well.

Here is how I made mine, you can half the recipe for less foam, I think mine was about 6 cups of foam:

Pour the liquid from two cans of chickpeas into a mixing bowl

Add about ten drops of food coloring

Add 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar (helps the foam hold longer but isn’t necessary, says Cara)

Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the liquid for five minutes. The end result is a great texture and just tastes like beans. And there is very little waste because you can eat the chickpeas!! For mess containment you can put baby and the foam in a large storage container/bin or in the tub, or take it outside in a baby pool!
I know I will be making this many more times! Have fun with your little chick peas!
