Washcloth Teething Knots

Washcloth teething knots ! Who has a teething babe?! This is a really easy method to soothe those sore gums and give baby a chance to have fun and develop fine motor skills. My 9 month old loved these SO much more than just freezing a wash cloth flat, the knot made them more relieving and fun! I can’t believe I just thought of this!

Here is my method:

Take a few baby washcloths and tie one end of each into a knot.

Wet the knotted end with water and leave the tail end dry.

Place them in a ziplock bag and freeze for 15-30 minutes (this is what the AAP recommends, see healthychildren.org).

Remove and place in a container, I used a puffs container—bonus points for recycling!

Now baby can pull them out and chow down! This hack is great for those days when baby is just having a rough time, and needs to be occupied but she can’t keep things out of her mouth! You can make this an even more challenging task for developing fine motor skills by placing the washcloth knots in an empty wipes container, so the knots are a littler harder to pull out—older babies will be up to the challenge!
