Washcloth Teething Tray

Washcloth Teething Tray 🦷 This play hack from @mombrainactivities is so good we are doing it again! 👏🏽 Combining a soothing teether with fine motor skill development makes this a definite win.

Take several wash cloths and wet them so they are damp but not dripping. Fold them over then form them into circles by placing them in a muffin tray. Place the tray in the freezer for 15-30 minutes (this is what the AAP recommends—see healthychildren.org). Remove the tray from the freezer, turn and loosen the wash cloths slightly so your little will be able to remove them from the tray on their own (thaw slightly if necessary).

For babies who are able to reach and grab, place the tray in front of them on the floor and let them discover how to remove the teething rings on their own. The cold wash cloths will be soothing to their gums if they have new teeth popping through!

If your baby is particular about holding cold things, you can wet two-thirds of the cloth and leave a dry portion for baby to hold.

These wash cloths were baby wash cloths from Target. If you don’t have any baby wash cloths and have some larger wash cloths or a hand towel to spare you can cut a couple down to a smaller size.
Thanks again to @mombrainactivitiesfor this clever trick!
