Move Like an Animal Game
Create this fun game—your child rolls the die to see what animal motion to do—using a tissue box, glue, and the free printable below! Optional additions are construction paper and packing tape. This is a great game for them to play when they are needing to get wiggles out! They will love rolling the dice and deciding what motion to perform, as well as moving and even making the sounds of the animals.
If you want to cover the tissue box with paper, trace the sides of the box onto sheets of construction paper. Cut the pieces out then glue them to the box with hot glue. Print out this free printable:
Cut out the six ovals, then hot glue one oval to each side of the box. To make the die sturdier, I recommend covering the box in packing tape, it won’t be as pretty but it will take a beating better.
Then your little one can do the:
Elephant Stomp
Snake Slither
Bear Crawl
Cheetah Run
Bunny Hop and
Penguin Waddle
You can add in their sounds as well if you would like! Some of these animals have trickier sounds than others. If you look up a penguin it sounds to me like it makes a honking noise ha ha. And cheetahs purrr just like a house cat! We can debate what sound an elephant makes, I think the trumpeting sounds like pah-vvvvvvv (or pawoo if you subscribe to Little Baby Bum’s version ha ha). I would say a bunny thumps (their legs—like Thumper!) but it seems they make a lot of noises like squeaking and even purring so I guess this one is up for debate too.
Does your little one often need to get out their wiggles at home? Try this and let me know how it goes!
