Dinosaur Hoodie

Turn a hoodie into a Dinosaur Costume! 🦖 This costume is perfect if you have a hoodie, stiff felt and hot glue (plus scissors, a permanent marker and paper). It is a great way to get some use out of a hoodie that’s collecting dust in the closet too! What kid doesn’t want to be a dinosaur? 

Go this link to download the template for the scales, or free hand a template yourself, cut it out, then trace it onto stiff felt about ten times. 

Cut the scales out. Take another sheet of felt and fold it along the diagonal. Draw a curve opposite the fold, then cut out the folded tail shape. Open the folded tail and apply hot glue to the inside of the tail then glue it shut.

Hot glue the tail to the inside of the back of the hoodie, toward the bottom (give a few inches at least for gluing). I glued the tail flat so it would adhere better, it won’t stick out but it will be easier for them to sit.

Lay out where you want the scales on the hoodie and tail then hot glue them to the hoodie one at a time, making sure to hold them in place vertically until the glue dries.
