DIY Mermaid Crown
Are you making any part of your little one’s Halloween costume? We bought a mermaid costume, but I decided to make a mermaid crown for my toddler to go with it! It is so easy and I even made a template for you to use!
You will need 2 sheets of stiff felt, or 1 stiff and 1 soft (the stiff felt I used was a glitter sheet), ribbon, hot glue, and shells, scissors and a permanent marker.
Print out the template and cut out the crown. Trace the template onto the two felt sheets with a permanent marker. Cut the felt crowns out.
Hot glue the ends of 4, 18” ribbons to the back piece of the crown (if you are using soft felt the back piece should be soft and the front stiff). Apply hot glue to the back piece of the crown then glue the front piece of the crown down, the ribbon will be sandwiched between the two pieces of felt.
Arrange shells on the crown and hot glue them one at a time. Let the glue cool and harden, then you have a lovely mermaid crown! Looking for books about mermaids? I recommend Julian is a Mermaid 🧜🏽 and Oona 🧜🏿♀️!
