Easy Doctor Costume
If you need a quick Halloween costume idea or dress-up costume for your toddler, this one is so easy! Take an old white t-shirt and cut it down the middle! Yes! It is that simple! If you need to you can cut it short as well. Now you have a “doctor coat” or a lab coat for a scientist costume! If you need to, you can use a cloth diaper pin to keep the coat shut. If you want to make your own stethoscope, all you need is felt, hot glue, an 18” length of yarn, and a pouch lid, a permanent marker and scissors. I have a template for the stethoscope you can download for free here!
Cut out the template and trace it onto a sheet of felt twice with a permanent marker. Cut out the pieces and place one end of the yarn in between the felt pieces at the center. Hot glue the two pieces together with the end of the yarn in between. Fill the middle of the pouch lid with hot glue then carefully put the other end of the yarn inside the glue and hold it in place (it helps to use something like a coffee stirrer to press the yarn inside).
Done! So easy and quite durable! Your little one can play with it or drape it around their neck while trick-or-treating! We use our “doctor coat” all the time for dress up!
