Glow Stick Tummy Time

Glow Stick Tummy Time! Intrigue baby with the neon colors and light of glow sticks! I remember when Norah was less than two months old and amazed by the colored lights on our Christmas tree. I love the idea of glow sticks because they are more portable and not seasonal! Most dollar stores and super markets have them—I got these in the dollar section at Target.

You can put them in a bottle like this (similar to a plastic Voss Walter bottle), or if baby isn’t grabbing yet you can just lay them out in front of him! They glow a bit in low light, but if you turn the lights down or out that’s when they really shine! This also doubles as a shaker, and you can even throw it in the bath with baby!

I found out through my experiments that placing the glow sticks in warm water makes them start glowing again!! So if they start to get dim just dip them in warm/hot water for a bit and take them back out. This worked for at least a few hours, ultimately they do die out.
