Tape Peel

Tape Peel! I had to make this into a post because we use this activity all the time! It is one of the only activities I end up doing with Norah just about every day, partially because it is so easy but also because she loves it! It is so great for fine motor skill development and you can do this activity sitting or standing. Baby will need to have their pincer grasp to do this hack, which usually develops around 8 months old. If you want to try it younger you could try peeling the tape off some for baby so there is a bigger portion to grab.

All you have to do is stick some painter's tape to the window. It works on the wall and with masking tape, but I have found it works the best with painter's tape on glass because it sticks well but also peels off well. The painter's tape holds up pretty well to licking, ha ha, I just wipe it off some and stick it back on. I do try to teach my 10 month old not to put it in her mouth, some days she is more inclined to licking it than others. Definitely supervise as you don't want baby to get a balled up piece of tape in her mouth.

Try putting the tape slightly out of reach or put it along the wall or window so baby has to cruise to get to it. You can also try putting the tape on the floor or lower on the wall for sitting babies.

Do you have a baby who is fascinated with peeling tape?
