Sensory Scarf Bath

Sensory Scarf Bath! Bath time is a great sensory experience for babies, feeling the water, smelling soap, hearing their splashes, and feeling a change in temperature are all experiences that build neural connections. Babies need to make neural connections to think in more complex ways. This sensory play uses rainbow scarves, which you can find below, but you can also use silk scarves or fabric pieces. After you have rinsed baby and drained the dirty water, add some more water and the scarves. You can show baby how to twirl the scarves, filter water through them, splash around, etc. Sing some songs like “Rubber Ducky” and “Baby Shark” to add some language learning!

This activity is best for babies who are sitting well on their own and up. Supervise within arm’s reach and with undivided attention!
