Ice Hockey

Ice Hockey 🥌 This sensory activity was so entertaining and easy to set up, and would be fun for tummy time or sitting. 👐🏼 All you need to do to prepare is freeze water in plastic cups. I used a small plastic cup and a silicone baking cup. Put 1”-3” of water, so that the ice comes out large enough that it is not a choking hazard. If you would like, add a couple drops of food coloring for extra fun.
When frozen, pop the ice out and place it on a baking pan so that baby can push it around (and to contain the water). You can place this in front of a younger baby during tummy time, baby may be interested from about 4 months old up. This would also be easy to set up in an empty bath tub for even less mess, but for sensory play the cleanup for this is very easy, just some water to wipe up!
Norah was interested in this for about ten minutes, and really loved licking the ice. If you are worried about the ice sticking, leave it out for a couple minutes before giving it to baby. Supervise, and remove any pieces that are small enough to fit into baby’s mouth.
